A kothi is basically a bigger bungalow. It can be a single storey or multiple storey bungalow with verandah, porch area, greenery and a lot more. It is usually occupied by a joint family. A kothi generally has a large hall in the centre with 2-3 rooms outlining it.

Kothi houses are often built to accommodate extended families or large households, with separate living areas for different members of the family. They may also feature amenities such as courtyards, gardens, and balconies.
